Android and iPhone Users Can Now Receive Office 365 For Free(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) –  Android and iPhone users can now purchase Office 365 for free on their mobile devices, announced Microsoft last week.

The new free mobile version of Office 365 will include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, allowing users the ability to use most of the basic functions of each software, though those wanting to use more advanced editing will need to purchase the full subscription, reports the Wall Street Journal.

“We want as many users as we can get,” said John Case, corporate vice president of marketing for Microsoft Office. “It’s becoming clearer to us, to continue to be the best paid solution, it’s also important to be the best free solution.”

  • New Office for iPhone apps for WordExcel and PowerPoint offer the same beautiful iPad experience, optimized for the iPhone. Customers can download the new apps today.
  • Updated Office for iPad apps for Word, Excel and PowerPoint . Customers can download the new apps today.
  • Preview of Office apps for Android tablet brings the productivity of Word, Excel and PowerPoint to Android tablet customers. Customers can sign up for the Preview starting today. General availability is expected in early 2015.
  • More of Office for everyone. Beginning today, customers on iPhone, iPad and Android can create and edit Office content without a subscription. Now customers on nearly every mobile device and platform can do more with Office.
